About

Hey there.  I’m Wendy.

My Family

I share my life with a wonderful and supportive guy.  His name is Jeff and I think he’s dreamy.

I’m a mom with 4 beautiful kids, Sean, Kenzie, Randa and Joey (oldest to youngest). Joey is that little girl on the right and the only one who I’ve actually grown from scratch.  And as for my 3 stepkids, I’m incredibly lucky to have such wonderful people in my life.  I homeschool Joey (the others prefer public school)  in order to give her the freedom to learn things she’s actually interested in. It’s one of the best decision we’ve ever made. But, that also depends on which day you ask me.

The sweet little guy in the middle is not mine.  His name is Kam and he belongs to my sister, Jenny. You will, though, see lots of him around here because his mommy (the very talented lady who snapped this picture) and I spend a lot of time together.  In fact, if you see the JenGay.com watermark on the bottom of a photo, it’s one of hers.  And she takes quite a few for me to use.  If you’re interested, more of her work can be found at her website or in her photostream on Flickr.

My Readers

Let me just come right out and say it.  I LOVE hearing from you.  I love to know what you think of my posts as well as what you’re up to yourself.  Feel free to leave a comment or if you don’t want your thoughts public, go ahead and shoot me an email.  I’m happy to answer questions on just about anything.

Originally I started this blog just to see myself think (so much more interesting than simply hearing myself think), but over time I’ve realized that I also wanted to create something meaningful for people who aren’t actually me.  Really, helping others is the only justification I have for carving out the time.  A site just to say, “Look what I did” doesn’t appeal to me without following it up with ... “and here’s how I did it.”

With that in mind, you should know that I always appreciate your feedback, both the positive and the negative.  The positive makes my day, but I also know how important the negative is.  I’m counting on you to let me know if you find anything broken around here, like confusing instructions or dead end links or just the fact that I’m rambling incoherently.  I can identify with this thought by Franklin P Jones…Honest criticism is hard to take, particularly from a relative, a friend, an acquaintance or a stranger. But I know that without that uncomfortable feeling of “Hey, maybe there’s a better way to do this,” I will never grow.  As a crafter, a parent, an artist or a person.

When I say this site is for you, I mean it.  Please let me know if there is anything you’d like to see more of around here.  I’m always open to suggestions.  And if I have inspired you to do anything at all, I would love to hear about it.  Pictures of your creations make me especially giddy.

That pretty much sums things up around here, but if you want to know more than that, feel free to check out the 8,452 completely random things about me… give or take.
